Work Experience

Royal Mail welcomed Carew Academy student, Luke to their Wallington delivery office for some invaluable work experience. He received a tour of the mail centre in order to understand the journey of a letter and learnt how to sort mail.

Luke enjoyed his work experience so much that he has been inspired to consider a future with the Post Office . He said: “I really enjoyed my time at the delivery office, learning new things and understanding what to do. It has made me think about a career at Royal Mail. I can imagine myself being a postman as I enjoy sorting letters and getting to know people.”

Luke made a great impression and was a credit to his school, a sentiment echoed by delivery office manager, Paul Cardno, who said: “My colleagues enjoyed showing Luke the ropes. They felt proud to help out a local school and students who might not otherwise get this opportunity”.

Well done Luke!

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
