Wings of Imagination

By Clair Hill - March 10th, 2025 | Posted in Article

Students have been celebrating the magic of reading as part of our whole school ‘Wings of Imagination’ project. The project aims to show how books can take us to new places, spark our imaginations, and allow us to share the worlds we discover with each other.
All students created butterflies from pages of their favourite books, representing their unique connection to the stories they love. These butterflies will all fly out of a giant, open book in a beautiful display in our new school library.
The butterflies symbolise the power stories have to help us grow, change, and express ourselves. As they fly out of the book, they remind us that reading isn’t just about words on a page—it’s about the adventure, the emotions, and the lessons we find within them.
Every student’s butterfly will reflect something special about their reading journey, whether it’s a character they relate to, a place they dream of visiting, or a feeling a story gave them.
The library will become a vibrant place full of the energy of imagination, and the display will invite everyone to explore new books and discover new favourites.
This project shows that reading is for everyone, and that books help us connect with others. Through “Wings of Imagination,” we are reminded that every book is a doorway, and each butterfly is a tiny piece of magic waiting to be shared.
