On Monday 2nd March, Beijing, Paris and Accra classes went to Warner Brothers Studios as part of their work experience week. They took part in a workshop about Art and Design careers in film making, looking at Hagrid’s mask and costumes and discussing the detail that is included in the costumes such as slobber from Fang!
We then looked at letters and graphics used in the film and where the ideas of fonts and designs came from. The pupils then set to work making a graphic design prototype of their choice, taking inspiration from the boxes made for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes joke shop!
After all of that excitement it was time to look around the tour. Pupils were particularly impressed by the rather lifelike giant spiders in the Forbidden Forest, looked at the animatronic models used in the films and then strolled through Diagon Alley and Gringotts Bank coming face to face with a rather scary dragon! The tour ended with the magical model of Hogwarts and of course the gift shop.
It was a very interesting day out and has hopefully inspired some future film careers!
