Reading Leaders Trip

By Clair Hill - March 26th, 2025 | Posted in Article

Our first student Reading Leaders trip on Thursday 20th March was a great success!

We went to the British Library and students took part in a “Books Uncovered” workshop. We were taken on a tour of the library and were shown books of all shapes and sizes, ages and languages. We looked at books in the Treasures Collection, including the Magna Carta. Students then went to the Learning Centre and enjoyed making their own books, including binding them with sewing, to take home.

The students were engaged in the activities and were excellent representatives of student leaders at Carew Academy. We are very proud of them.

We are looking forward to planning another Reading Leaders trip soon!
