Maths at the Races

Year 10 students had a fantastic day out at Sandown Park last week. They investigated how maths is used in real world in jobs and in the horse racing industry. Students were invited to be jockeys for the day, which made them think about the practical maths applied in all parts of the sport, including weighing the jockeys and measuring the horses.  Students also got to see the horses in their stables and finished the day off watching a live race – very exciting!
