Preparing for Silver D of E

Just before the Easter break, 11 pupils braved cold nights and mixed weather conditions on their practice expedition for their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. They worked together in teams to navigate, cook and set up two different campsites, in the local countryside. This was a chance to demonstrate their skills gained on the Bronze Award last year, and take them to the next level.

Their next challenge will be the assessed expedition in the New Forest during the Summer Term.

One student said of the practice: “This has been the best trip so far!” and another said: “It was cold, but worth it!”
