We are open and, in accordance with government guidelines, we are working to gradually increase the number of students who can return to school safely over the summer term.

As always, we are here to support you, if you have any queries please contact us. Best wishes, Rob Watkins, Principal

School Meals

Caterlink is responsible for providing school lunches at Carew Academy.

The meals meet the School Food Standards and provide a hot balanced meal every day.

The Caterer and his/her staff freshly prepare and cook the meals in our school kitchen.

The meal includes a choice of two main meals (one of which is suitable for a vegetarian diet) or a jacket potato with filling, a choice of two vegetables, a salad bar, freshly baked bread, a pudding of the day or a choice of fresh fruit, organic yogurt or cheese and biscuits, and drinking water.

Please see the link below for information regarding the Caterlink including the menus and allergens information:

Cost of school meals

We ask that all parents register their child for free school meals, if applicable, as the school receives vital funding known as Pupil Premium, which is used to raise the attainment of children.

The cost of school dinner’s will be increasing from 1 September 2019:

Junior Pupil Meals (Year’s 3 – 6) will be £2.30 per day. (£11.50 per week)

Senior Pupil Meals (Year’s 7-13) will be £2.40 per day. (£12.00 per week)

Parent Pay

The school operates a secure payment service called Parent Pay. No cash or cheques can be accepted for school lunches, as parents can pay online via Parent Pay or using a barcode letter at a Pay point store.

Free School Meals during School Closure

The Free School Meals National Voucher Scheme is due to start after Easter.
Key points as follows:
•This Scheme is for all pupils eligible for FSM that are not currently attending school.
•£3 a day – vouchers will be issued based on a weekly amount (£15).
•The government has said that vouchers can only be used in these supermarkets: Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Waitrose & M&S.
•When the scheme is active, we will email you with an e-code. You can choose to either hold the e-code on your smartphone or print a gift card that can be redeemed in store.
•If you do not have access to the internet or would prefer a gift card, please contact me directly to confirm your supermarket preference by 10th April. If we do not receive a response we will allocate a supermarket on your behalf. We will then post the voucher to you.
We will continue to provide packed lunches over the Easter break for those eligible for FSM. These can be collected daily between 12:45-13:30. Please let Mrs Davey know in advance if you would like to collect one (ldavey@carewacademy.org). Please note – school will not be open for the Bank Holidays.

Carew is an amazing school for our son, he now shines academically and his social skills are outstanding since being part of Carew.  Most of all they understand his needs and support him daily.
