National Year of Reading 2026

We are proud to be celebrating the National Year of Reading by promoting reading for pleasure across the school. It has been wonderful to see so many students enjoying books in their own time, both in the library and around the school.

Our popular Books & Biscuits club continues to grow, giving students the chance to relax with friends, enjoy a good book, and share their love of reading during Monday lunchtimes.

We are also looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, where students are encouraged to “Go All In” and wear something that represents what they are passionate about.

As part of the celebrations, we will once again be hosting a pop-up bookshop in partnership with The Children’s Book Project, giving Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils the opportunity to choose two free books to take home, keep, or share with friends, helping to spread the joy of reading even further.

More photos and highlights from our World Book Day celebrations coming soon.
