Last week, we were delighted to welcome Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington to our Careers Day where he spoke to students about his experience of interviewing volunteers, interns and staff and the world of work.

Mr Brake said: “It was great meeting the students and being given the opportunity to speak about my experience as an employer and the attributes I look for when hiring someone, as well as the qualities prospective employers seek. The simple rules are that candidates should have a positive attitude, show enthusiasm, dress smart and arrive on time for work or for an interview.”

“This event was a unique opportunity for the students to network with a wide range of local employers, get a head start on looking into their options, or finding work placements. I look forward to seeing how the students take what they have learnt at the Careers’ Fair and apply it in their future careers.”

We would like to thank Mr Brake for suppporting our event and we look forward to him visiting our school again soon.
