Mental Health Comes First

On Tuesday 25th February, Kooth visited Carew Academy, as part of the NHS Mental Health Trailblazer scheme, to promote their offer to students. Kooth is now available and allows students to access free, safe and anonymous online support. They can talk to friendly trained counsellors, read articles written by young people and find self-help advice, as well as write down feelings and thoughts in a daily journal.

Students were very impressed with the accessibility of the website and a Year 10 student explained that, even though he gets support from Carew and his teachers, it is good to know there is additional support of having someone safe to talk to in the evenings, or during the holidays.

For further information on Kooth, please visit their website at www.kooth.com

Carew is an amazing school for our son, he now shines academically and his social skills are outstanding since being part of Carew.  Most of all they understand his needs and support him daily.
