Marking Remembrance Day
Students and staff joined together this morning to pay their respects to all those who have lost their lives at war.
Mr Kearns read a short poem ‘For the Fallen’ which was followed by a minute’s silence at 11am. Our service ended with The Last Post, movingly played on the trumpet by Miss Walker. We were so proud of our students for honouring the silence.
The beautiful and emotive artwork on the school gates was created by students during their art lessons to mark Remembrance Day. Members of our local community often comment on the artwork that adorns the gates.
A local resident, who often walks in Beddington park said, /’I would like to complement the art work that regularly appears on the school gates. It’s so nice that we the public see the creations your children have made. I will miss seeing them when you move out of Carew Manor.’
