Lord Young of Cookham online visit to Carew Academy

Earlier this month, Lord Young of Cookham took part in a 45-minute online question and answer session with students from Carew Academy as part of the popular ‘Learn with the Lords’ programme, which is a unique opportunity for students to interact with a member of the House of Lords and to learn more about the vital role of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament.

During the event, Lord Young of Cookham talked about the role and work of the House of Lords, showing students an interactive slideshow, before answering questions from students on the increases to tax, world conflicts and government and Lord structures. Ethan, commented that “It was a great experience as I got to see the lord “. We were especially lucky as we have been invited to meet him in person, and have a tour.

We have some very excited students who cannot wait for their visit to the House of Lords next!
