The School Self Evaluation Form (SEF) is the school’s evaluation of how it is performing in the following areas: effectiveness of leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare; and outcomes for children and other learners.
The School Development Plan provides a framework of identified improvements successfully negotiated and agreed by governors, senior leadership members and staff. At Carew Academy, our Mission Statement underpins all that we do and as such this has been fully embedded across all aspects of our School Development Plan.
Carew Academy has a committed community that both initiates and responds to change: it reflects the needs of everyone involved in its development – these include pupils, parents, teachers and governors.

The School Development Plan builds on a comprehensive review of current practice and progress made towards existing targets. It takes into account last year’s plan, national initiatives, the last Ofsted Inspection and more recent external audits. The plan’s strength is that it ensures a consistent focus on pupil achievement, high expectations and good value for money.
The School Development Plan provides a one year detailed programme, which shows the development priorities for the school.
