Carew Academy is a ‘Good’ school, with an ‘Outstanding’ judgement for Behaviour and Safety, for pupils between the ages of 7 and 19 who have moderate learning difficulties or a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Carew is a very special school, with around 240 students, we have a unique family ethos and staff are able to get to know every child as an individual, our parents are also incredibly supportive of the school. To support staff wellbeing we have ‘Wellbeing Wednesdays’. Each half term we have a Wellbeing Wednesday, before Easter we had a Selfie Easter Egg Hunt and at the end of the summer we hold our Family BBQ!

Carew has recently had its application to build a brand new school building approved, so this is an exciting time to be joining us with an increasing pupil roll and lots of opportunities for career development within our wider family of Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust.

Our curriculum is really different too – our Lower School students have enrichment activities which include Rock Climbing, Swimming, Horse Riding and a huge range of other sports. All our Upper School students take Option Subjects to enrich their learning. We have also just started delivering A-Level Photography and Art in our Sixth Form.
