Job Description

We are looking for someone with drive, creativity and a passion for working with young people to join our team as a Senior Learning Leader with particular responsibility for the School Website and Publicity.  This will include adding regular New Stories to the website and ensuring the quality of our marketing material e.g. the School Prospectus.

The role will involve supporting in around 20 lessons each week, taking responsibility for leading up to 6 sessions each week and up to 4 periods a week of management time for carrying out the above responsibilities.

Person Specification

The role will be varied and include running group and individual programmes to support students in developing their social skills, dealing with students when they are frustrated or upset and providing support and advice to colleagues on how to work with students effectively.

The successful candidate will need to have an eye for detail, creative flair and the ability to write a good story to celebrate the amazing activities our students get up to!

Carew Academy is a Good school, with an Outstanding judgement for Behaviour and Safety, for pupils between the ages of 7 and 18 who have moderate learning difficulties or a diagnosis of ASD. In the short time I have been at Carew I can tell you it is a truly special place. With 220 students we have a unique family ethos and staff are able to get to know every child as an individual, our parents are also incredibly supportive of the school.

To support staff wellbeing we have ‘Wellbeing Wednesdays’ – last term staff enjoyed head massage, wine tasting and a BBQ instead of the regular after school meetings.
