Carew Academy is an outstanding special school situated at the edge of Beddington Park in Wallington. It has 230 students aged 7-18 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including complex needs. There are plans for the school to move to a purpose built Free School in 2023.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic candidate to lead the curriculum provision and pastoral care across a Key Stage, and to take a school wide lead on key areas of responsibility.  This will be determined with the successful candidate looking at their strengths and experience.  Your teaching background and length of service is not important; what is important is that you have high expectations, love a challenge and will be highly visible around the school and throw yourself into all aspects of school life.  The role includes a teaching commitment of 8 hours a week, your subject specialism is not important.

Lower School students have enrichment activities every afternoon which include Rock Climbing, Swimming, Horse Riding and a huge range of other sports. All our Upper School students all take part in subject specific overnight trips to support their learning.  We are developing additional BTEC qualifications in our Sixth Form to support our learners gain the work and life skills they need for future success.

Our curriculum is at an exciting time of evolution – as we begin to develop and embed a completely holistic therapeutic approach to everything we do.
