Jamie’s Farm

On Monday 24th June 2019, 4 students from year 7 and 8 students from year 9 set out on a great adventure to Jamie’s Farm in Lewes.

Although we have been to Jamie’s farm in Bath many times before this was our first visit to their new farm in Lewes.

We had a fabulous week trying out the new facilities in Lewes and absolutely loved them. All 12 of the students have already asked if they can go again!

We spent the week living together in the farm house, working with the animals on the farm, going for long afternoon walks (we think we walked 28 miles across the week) and cooking our own fresh, healthy and delicious food.

Whilst on the farm we fed, cleaned out, walked and played with the sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, dogs and their 2 new arrivals Victor & Honey-Bear the Horses who spent their first week on the farm with us.

For several of the students it was their first time away from home and their families.

They all did exceptionally well caring for themselves and each other, every student worked really hard and was a delight to spent the week with.

They should all be very proud of themselves as we are.

Carew is an amazing school for our son, he now shines academically and his social skills are outstanding since being part of Carew.  Most of all they understand his needs and support him daily.
