Galloping to success: award winning horse riders!

Throughout the academic year students from Years 3 to 8 have been enjoying visiting the Diamond Riding Centre in Carshalton, and their talents are clearly shining through as Carew was awarded Horse Riders School of the Year 2015 for riders who have made the most progress.

Following weekly visits to the riding centre last term, students successfully completed Grade 1 in Horse Care and Riding, which involved knowing parts of the horse, items and equipment needed for riding, in addition to assessing their riding skills. Students have really enjoyed the course, many with favourite horses, and parents and carers are also keen to hear how they’re progressing!

Everyone has worked so hard to develop new skills, so it was brilliant to see every student receive a certificate for all their effort, along with one for the school and a shield to add to the trophy cabinet!
