Fun at the Farm

By Clair Hill - July 24th, 2025 | Posted in Article

Ten year 7 students spend a week at Jamie’s Farm in Lewes just before half term.  Students had a brilliant week and really threw themselves into the whole farming experience, doing jobs such as milking the cow, grooming horses, feeding goats and sheep, mucking out the pigsty, chopping wood and even bee-keeping!  Another highlight was preparing homecooked breakfasts and lunches for everyone to enjoy: pancakes, a fry-up, freshly made pizza and delicious chocolate chip cookies were just a few of the culinary delights the children cooked up!

We also enjoyed a 6km walk along the top of Ditchling Beacon, managing to dodge the torrential rain and singing our hearts out to ‘Everywhere we go’ when little legs got tired.

The staff team were so impressed with the confidence and resilience shown by the children at the farm – many of them were completely out of their comfort zone and facing brand new activities but this didn’t deter them one bit. Well done to all ten students – we are so proud of you!
