Duke of Edinburgh students plant new greenery at Sheen Way playing field

Recently, our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty for a fantastic cause! Alongside Sutton Council, they planted a brand-new tree hedge along Sheen Way Playing Field, helping to bring more greenery and life to the local area.

The students worked extremely hard throughout the morning, digging, planting, and ensuring every sapling was securely in place. Their efforts are not just for today—the hedge they’ve planted will grow over the next five years into a beautiful natural barrier, providing habitat for wildlife, shade for the community, and a greener space for everyone to enjoy.

This project perfectly embodies the spirit of the Duke of Edinburgh Award: teamwork, perseverance, and making a positive impact on the community. We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication and for helping to leave a lasting, positive mark on Sheen Way Playing Field.

Over the coming years, the hedge will flourish, and our students will have a living legacy to be proud of!
