Enrichment

Carew Academy operates a wealth of curriculum enrichment opportunities.

Our Enrichment programme offers a range of additional subjects and experiences all aimed at improving pupils’ self-esteem, life skills and positive approaches to learning. There are four enrichment sessions each week, three in the afternoons Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and one in the morning on a Wednesday.

Enrichment Options include: Climbing, Signing, Football, Swimming, Debate Mate, Sensory Story, Cycling, Youth Cadets, Art, Travel Training, Photography, Science, Dance, Tae Kwon Do, Cheerleading, Music, Animation, Horse Riding, Hockey and Games Review

Pupils are set a different skills-based target for every Enrichment session. They review and reflect upon these with staff during the course of the term and new ones are set as appropriate.

We also offer a wide range of Educational Visits throughout the year.

Lower School: Jamie’s Farm, Visit London Days and School Based Sleepovers

Middle School: PGL

Upper School: Centre Parcs

In addition, we have organised whole school Science Days in collaboration with the Science Museum and work closely with a wide range of local businesses to arrange work experience placements for our Upper School and Post 16 Students.

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
