This half-term in English, Year 8 classes are learning about charities.
This is why Rome class decided to pay a visit to a local charity shop, so we can learn more about this topic.
We visited Cancer Research UK on Carshalton High Street equipped with our clipboards and lots of enthusiasm. We were welcomed by the friendly manager Phil who very kindly offered to answer all of the children’s questions. The students then had a look around the shop to find something to buy in order to support the charity which also gave us the chance to practice our money skills. We said goodbye to the manager and left the shop with a big smile on our face knowing we had contributed to such a worthy cause.
Thanks to all the staff involved in this trip and a big thanks to Phil Daly for making our visit such an enjoyable experience.
