Central teams lend a helping hand at Carew Academy in Volunteers Week
Carew Academy recently welcomed colleagues from Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust’s Central Development and Marketing teams for a day of volunteering to help improve the school’s outdoor spaces.
The day started with the volunteers stopping by the school’s reception area, where students were running their regular Friday enterprise activity, selling refreshments and freshly made cinnamon buns outside the teaching café. The delicious treats provided welcome fuel for the volunteers while supporting the students’ enterprise skills.
Working together, the team planted trees, weeded garden areas and planted tomatoes and runner beans, helping to create outdoor spaces that students can enjoy throughout the year.
Sarah-Jane, Head of Fundraising at Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust, said:
“Days like this are a great reminder of the power of teamwork and the value of creating green spaces where our learners can thrive.”
Sophie Reynolds, Office Manager at Carew Academy, added:
“Thank you so much for all your hard work on Friday. It looks great outside and the students loved being part of the day.”
Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to support the day. Their hard work has made a real difference to the school grounds and created an even more welcoming outdoor environment for our students.
