Carew Academy celebrates ‘Belonging’ as part of Children’s Mental Health Week

This year, Carew Academy proudly took part in Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, embracing the national theme of This is my Place and Belonging. Across the school, pupils explored what it means to feel part of something—whether within our school community, local groups, or their favourite places in school.

Throughout the week, classes reflected on the people, spaces, and activities that help them feel connected. Pupils shared the clubs they enjoy, the friendships that support them, and the moments in school where they feel most themselves. These conversations highlighted that belonging looks different for everyone, yet it is important to us all.

A standout moment came from Year 7, who created a powerful “human poster” celebrating the message This school is our place. Their teamwork captured the spirit of the week and reflected Carew’s values; Caring, by showing kindness and connection, and Ambition, through their creative and enthusiastic collaboration.
