The enthusiastic Carew Academy athletes were raring to go and all did amazingly at the 2019 Borough Sports after only a few weeks of training! Almost every event had an athlete from our school including: Shotput, long jump and discus. Needless to say every student enjoyed themselves and enjoyed the first event we have been to, as this is the first year a special needs school have competed in this event. All students that took part tried their hardest even when things got tough, they persevered and did incredibly well.

Our Year 10 high jumper, Jeremy, did exceptionally well coming 3rd and received a bronze medal for his amazing effort. For the first year, the results were outstanding and we are very proud of our young athletes who have made history for similar schools in the area.
