Last term, Carew were proud to raise £97.80 for Book Aid International, so we were delighted to receive a letter from their fundraising team letting us know how our donation would make a difference.
The letter reads:
Thank you so much for choosing to donate £97.80 to Book Aid International today.
Around the world, millions of people are unable to reach their full potential because of a basic lack of books. We want to change this, and that’s why, with the help of generous people like you, we support libraries in Africa and beyond with brand new books, training and library development.
We send around one million books a year to Africa and beyond. Each book we send to a library, whether in a school or hospital, community or prison, on a university campus or in a refugee camp, can be read time and time again. And, as it costs on average just £2 to send each book, your donation will make a real and lasting impact on the communities we reach.
Thank you once more for choosing to make your donation today. Reading can help people to change their own lives, and by providing new books for libraries across Africa and beyond you are helping make that possible for more people.
