Student Billy wins prestigious prize at the Royal Academy of Arts
We are super excited and proud to share that Carew student, Billy’s artwork, titled Automatonophobia (referring to a fear of mannequins), was selected for this year’s Young Artists’ Summer Show at the Royal Academy of Arts.
Furthermore, his piece has been chosen by Cathie Pilkington RA, Keeper of the Royal Academy, as one of the ‘Most Inspiring’ entries. Cathie commented that the work “really caught her eye” and that she “loved how expressive and original it is.”
This is an outstanding achievement for Billy. His work was selected from over 23,000 submissions for the onsite exhibition and, in addition, he has been awarded a prize. Billy will receive a £50 voucher for art materials, and our school will receive a £250 voucher, which we can use to purchase resources for the upcoming term.
Well done Billy and the Visual Arts Team for their support.
