A bright future

At Carew we’re proud to continue links with ex-pupils, to see where they have gone on to, and for them to inspire current students by showing what can be achieved.

This week we welcomed back Barry who left Carew last year and progressed onto a plumbing apprenticeship.

Barry did his work experience placement at Smith & Byford and when he left school he wrote to them asking for more work experience. Smith & Byford were so impressed with Barry that they offered him a plumbing apprenticeship. When he’s not on his studies at Nescot College he travels around with the company, for example in the last few weeks he has worked in  Kennington and Essex – he can work anywhere!  He loves his job and wants to progress to the advanced apprenticeship.

Barry has also recently passed his driving test, which will boost his career options and further increase his independence.

Congratulations, Barry, we’re so proud of what you have achieved and the bright future that you are creating.
