After the Easter holiday a group of 12 pupils and 4 staff embarked on a ‘Life Swap’ to Jamie’s Farm in Wiltshire. Pupils and staff spent the week living and working on the farm whilst taking on the ‘Life Swap’ challenge of no electronics, no sweets, no fizzy drinks and no caffeine.
We followed a routine of hard work, healthy home cooked food, exercise and fresh air (well as fresh as farm air gets!) We helped to cook all meals from scratch, including things like making their own bread and pasta.
Each afternoon we went for long walks with the farm dogs over the hills and through the forests of the local countryside. We worked with lots of different animals including, cows, sheep, pigs, horses, chickens and many more.
For several of the pupils it was their first time away from home and living in such a tightknit large group. All pupils were a credit to the school and themselves and worked extremely hard throughout our journey.
Well Done & Thanks to all the hard working staff at Jamie’s Farm
