YTAs rewarded at TFL Expo

On Friday 29th June, Carew’s Youth Travel Ambassadors (YTA) attended a TFL Expo at the London Transport Museum.  Whilst there the students delivered their presentation again, but this time to students from 4 different schools within London.  We had an amazing day, we raced each other on the Rollapaluza, had a look around the museum finding facts as part of a treasure hunt as well as listening to presentations from other school and giving feedback on their presentations.  We enjoyed travelling on the underground and using escalators for the first time.  We put everything we have been learning about into practice and had an amazing day.

The 8 Youth Travel Ambassadors also received their certificates from TFL in recognition of their hard work in raising Road Safety Awareness within the school and local community.

We started this journey in September and the students did their first presentation in October, they were shy but successfully delivered the message to their peers,  when I asked them on our return from the Expo what their best part of the day was they all said “delivering their presentation”.  It has been an honour working with these students this year and watching them develop their skills.

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
