Student Enterprise

Mexico class have written up their very own good news story:

Every Thursday, we work on our young enterprise project. We started with a business called Tuck Box with the slogan created by Jake Harding “You don’t come to us, we come to you!”

Mr Shepard donated £10 to us – with the £10, we brought drinks, crisps & chocolate to sell in school to make a profit. So that we could buy even more products to make a larger profit. We had to make a container to put the products in that we could carry from class to class selling our goods. We also made a separate box for a till to keep our money safe.

We decided to stop the Tuck Box plan once we had sold all the food and focus on an enterprise project that would help the environment.

After a team meeting we decided to use empty plastic bottles to make pots that could be used to put things in, for example – Herbs / flowers & pens, pencils etc. We decided to customise the pots to make them more attractive and easier to sell.

We called the enterprise project Bottle Pots with the slogan “Bottles changed into pots , designed to your own taste” .

The team decided to build a display case to show off our pots and make them easier for customers too see. All pots will be sold for £1.00 each with profits going back to the young enterprise and a charity of our choice (Mencap Sutton).

 

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.
